St. Elizabeth Regional Health in Lafayette broke ground during the summer of 2007 for St. Elizabeth East, a new hospital that is scheduled to open in 2009. The 410,000 square foot facility will include 150 private rooms, a women's center, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, inpatient and outpatient pediatrics and the St. Elizabeth Heart Center.
