Evonik took over operation of the Tippecanoe Laboratories in Lafayette, Indiana, at the beginning of 2010. With more than 650 employees, it is the company's second-largest site in the United States.
In 1953, the US pharmaceutical giant, Eli Lilly and Company, built a plant to produce penicillin. The Tippecanoe Laboratories were named after the county of the same name, where Lafayette is the capital. Over the years, the site grew to its current size. Six hundred and fifty employees produce active ingredients and intermediates in two areas:
- Bulk Pharmaceutical Manufacturing for active pharmaceutical ingredients
- Animal Health Products for veterinary drugs
